I got a quick peek at the embryologist's notes yesterday, practically lunging off the table when I saw the distinctive pink paper tucked into my file. It appears that my right ovary is pretty close to worthless, just as I'd suspected based on past performance. Of the nine eggs retrieved, only two came from the right one was immature and one didn't fertilize with ICSI.
This was a big disappointment. My hope was that the useless eggs had come from the right, and that we could still hold out hope for the left. Alas, even the "good" ovary is churning out gristle. I guess the "good" ovary...isn't.
At least I am bilaterally symmetrical.
