Ticker picker
Karen mocked me yesterday for my nifty new countdown script, maliciously wondering why I didn't choose one with a stork or a big-headed cartoon baby on it. Deeply wounded, I told her I hope she gets an equally cheesy ticker when her adoption is well and truly underway. As I poked around the Internet in search of an appropriately saccharine picture to torment her with, it occurred to me that there should be a cheerful graphic for every precious moment in an infertile woman's journey to parenthood. Here are some suggestions.
Number of months until the last cycle is paid for
Sticks of butter consumed while in the throes of depression
Post-negative Drunk-O-Mat
Miles of fiendishly sticky red tape to fight through
Gallons of urine fruitlessly deposited on HPT sticks

See what you think about these ideas:
one with the time you sit in the office, waiting for the nurse to call you to get probed...
one for all the needles you've put in sharps containers
one for the number of times your ovary has subjected itself to 'pictures'

Clever tickers, but I want to comment on the name choice Batman. I love it. I have wanted to tell people "Hermione" when they ask me what names we're considering. But back to Batman... my husband would pronounce it Batmun, similar to how you would pronounce the last name Silverman or Hartman. It makes it more of a name. When people asks what he does for a living, he likes to say he's a Businessmun. FYI, I have a cheesy ticker on my site because I could not find a text-only one. Is yours for loan?

I'm so angry that this person feels this way (that IVF is, basically, murder) - but it's not only that. I'm angry that she's not the only one. I just can't understand it.
How the hell are you going to say that if a couple can't have children "naturally" that God doesn't intend for them to have children? What an evil, horrible thing to say (it's in another post in the same thread). The bitch.
Feel free to wail on her..I responded but I couldn't write much because I was too angry.

I think it's a great idea, but I don't know that anyone would use it.
But there certainly is a "countdown" with infertility that goes unrecognized.

But can I put in a request for a big pair of bottom cheeks at one end, and a needle progressing towards them to count down to my next cycle?

Just today she claims she made a new ticker, she designed it etc..
the gallons of pee one you have above!!!!
Some people are so incredibly sad they can't even credit you with the idea.
