Throw another one on the pile! Or on the baby.
I made this for the newborn daughter of a friend. I loved working on this one — the fabrics in the Mendocino line are so silky and fine. I don't want to give the impression that they're flimsy, because they're not; they're just an order of magnitude smoother than most other cotton prints I've come across.
I also threw in some of Anna Maria Horner's Good Folks, one of Amy Butler's Lotus prints, and some assorted others for good measure.
The back features one of my all-time favorites, a print called Animal Stencil by Jackie Shapiro. I hated using it up, and have to keep telling myself that's why I buy it, to use it.
The binding is an uninspiring hot print stripe that seems to work pretty well with the rest of the quilt. My favorite part of the binding are the yellow inserts.
The quilt is washed, folded, and ready to be stuffed lovingly into a mailing box. Let's hope the baby is ready to be stuffed lovingly into the quilt.

I love it! Love the fabrics, love the stripes, and I love the little extra details! I'm sure this one will be well loved by the new baby!

I didn't know you made stuff! Beautiful quilt - I've found that silky texture of fabric with most Free Spirit stuff. I wish there was some way to describe that in online fabric shops so we knew what it would feel like when it arrived. That stencil fabric is beautiful too.
