Here's the first of my planned finishes for the Joy in the New Year Challenge, one that wasn't even on my official list.

A few thousand years ago I started this quilt using Quiltmaker magazine's Warm Wishes pattern. I no longer have any idea what I was making it for, or why I chose such a boring-ass pattern, but it's sat in my closet looking at me for years, lacking only a binding.
Today I wanted to practice some machine binding so I hauled it out and set to. I did a terrible job on the binding — but the quilt is finished, washed, and ready to be used for any fort-building, tent-pitching, or brother-mummifying projects that present themselves.
I kind of love how melancholy all the elephants look.
...Though I can't really see what they have to be so sad about. Their binding matches their outfits perfectly.

congratulations on your finish!
