Oh! Hey! Hi!
In going through my backlog of quilty pictures, I realize I haven't posted any pictures from the two bees I'm in on Flickr. One is the Stash Busting Bee. Each member in turn sends out a single piece of fabric no larger than 10" square, and the others create a block of their choosing, supplementing the sender's from their own stash. The other is called the Beehive, a bit more traditional in scope; the member of the month sends out fabric and a description of the block she'd like and, when applicable, instructions for same. I'm having fun with both, but have inexplicably failed to document them here. So now, a sampling of my contributions:
1. Stash Busting Bee: February, 2. The Beehive: February, 3. Stash busting bee: January block, 4. The Beehive: December, 5. The Beehive: November, 6. Stash Busting Bee: November, 7. Stash Busting Bee: October, 8. The Beehive: October, 9. Stash Busting Bee: September, 10. The Beehive: September, 11. Stash busting bee: July block, 12. Stash busting bee: June block #1
And here are the blocks from my month in the Stash Busting Bee. I sent each member a square of Tula Pink's Nest, either a bird or an egg, each a different size, since I looked forward to the challenge of uniting them in the setting of the eventual quilt. Each block has its own distinct gorgeous personality, and I love the assortment. It's going to be fun to make such different blocks play well together.1. August block for jarbichaux, 2.
