This has been around in my Flickr stream for a while, but I haven't posted it here before because I didn't want to tip off the recipient early.
I made this for a friend of mine who requested a quilt to use during her yoga classes. I guess they use folded pads to prop up their chakras or something. This friend has a special fondness for mermaids, so I'd already snapped up yards and yards (and yaaards, but that's another story) of Heather Ross's Mendocino line when it came out.
Those fabrics plus the Mixtape pattern from Oh, Fransson! plus a border of little bitty squares plus some Munki Munki pajamas — the yoga girls dreaming of cake — resulted, if I may say so, in purest cushiony awesome.
goodness, this is gorgeous!

Wow, this quilt is stunning. I made a similar mixtape quilt using Heather Ross' far far away fabric.

I just want to say that I happen to know for a fact that the friend in question took this quilt to a major league workshop this past weekend, where it was the object of much admiration and envy. And also that said friend was very very glad more than once to cuddle up under it during the final relaxation period, her ass having been handed to her during 7 sessions over two days.
