Quilt for Dana — full view
The center panel of the quilt consists of three blocks called Memory. I'm a little bit obsessed these days with this block, with the way the varations in light and dark value can create either a star or a criss-crossed lattice effect. It's flanked on either side by border print stripes and panels pieced with Chinese coins. The quilting is done in variegated thread in orchid and olive, forming a simple crosshatch here and there, and echoing the lines of the piecing in the center panel.
